Demon Hunter Kain: Wendigo Concept Art

First off, Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful and prosperous New Year.

Next, behold the Wendigo. The Wendigo is a monster who comes from the coldest place. Its body is composed of mud and ice. A cannibal, it will devour anything in its path, including another Wendigo. Its mouth is lined with jagged teeth and it is magic, able to change form or possess people at will.

This image is the creature in its final form. I plan to have this creature appear in one of the Demon Hunter Kain story arcs.

Finally I’d like to give a special thanks to Lynne Yoshii for the use of her Cintiq (I have got to get me one of those! ). Thanks Lynne!!!

Demon Hunter Kain: Nicole LaCroix Concept Art

Nicole LaCroix has been trained as a Demon Hunter since she was able to walk. She meets Kain and Zandalee later in the series and at first is unimpressed by the pair. Later, as she witnesses Kain in action, her impressions about him begin to change as do her feelings. In the case of Zandalee however her impression has only gotten worse. Nicole considers Zandalee to be a nuisance and a liability, meanwhile Zandalee considers Nicole to be the greatest thing since Wonder Woman.

I always envisioned Nicole as one of those girls that other girls and older women outwardly liked, yet inwardly loathed. She has the confidence, the attitude, the youth, the soft, firm and curvy body that both men and women would kill for, she’s an A student, athletic, etc. She’s pretty much perfect, or so it seems.

As with my other designs these are not etched in stone.

The Goat-Foot Woman has been a way for parents on St. Croix to keep their children in check when they let them outside to play. Throughout my years on this earth I have never seen a visual representation of this creature, so I decided to take a stab at it. I plan to make her one of the first creatures that Kain fights on his road to becoming a Demon Hunter.

On the journey to produce my Demon Hunter Kain web comic I have, once again, fallen victim to writer’s block. So I’ve returned to drawing in hopes that it’ll give me a better feel for the characters and their world.

Today was another great Sequential Salon get together. Well my friends/editors got back to me on the Demon Hunter Kain scripts I submitted to them. It was like American Idol, three judges each with their own personality. Alex is like the Paula Abdul of the three but he’s much prettier. Lynne is like Randy Jackson except she’s a petite Japanese-Hawaiian. And then there’s Jeff, the Simon Cowell of the three, there have been many a dream and script torn asunder by this man.

Lynne got the free time to read the Prelude, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. I gave her Chapter 3 yesterday and once she completes her second read of each chapter she’ll give me the edits.

Jeff has read the Prelude to Chapter 3 and has given me his comments and edits on all. I’ve already made the appropriate changes.

Alex was totally enthusiastic. He hasn’t completed Chapter 3 since he only got it yesterday.

Then Mike, a member of the Sequential Salon, threw in his own edits and comments, despite a few changes he totally enjoyed Chapter 1, which was the only script he was free to read.

All in all I’ve gotten really good reviews. I’m a few steps closer to bringing my story to life. A few more chapters and I’ll be able to put pencil to paper.

Demon Hunter Kain Chapter 3 Script Completed And Sent Off For Review

It was on and off writer’s block but the third chapter’s script is complete. I have to wait for the reviews from my three editors. Fingers are crossed over here .
